It is a multidisciplinary unit in which all the new tumours of the alimentary tract cancer cases are treated. Every week a meeting is held in order to plan the most adequate diagnostic and therapeutic strategy for each case.

All the consultations in the different specialities are sped up and therefore, each patient’s pre-surgical period of study can be fulfilled in a maximum time of seven days. From that moment and as soon as possible the planning takes into account the therapeutic attitude, the surgical treatment, chemotherapical and radiotherapical strategies.

The unit is also in charge of second opinion consultations as well as the revision and updating of the therapeutic guideline.

Likewise, we present bibliographic reviews and we discuss and design research projects both developed within our team or suggested by other institutions.
