It is a multidisciplinary unit in which all the new breast cancer cases that arrive at our hospital are studied. Two meetings are held weekly in order to choose the most adequate diagnostic and therapeutic strategy in each case.

Likewise, the consultations in different specialities are sped up. As a result, the time spent on the study and each patient’s pre-operational period of time can be completed within a week. We then plan according to the therapeutic attitude, the surgical, chemotherapical and radiotherapical treatment as quickly as possible.

On the other hand the participant doctors analyse and report other breast cancer cases coming from second opinions. This unit is also in charge of interviewing those affected patients.

The therapeutic guideline is periodically revised and updated. Bibliographic revisions are presented and discussed. The unit decides and produces research projects.
