BRACHITHERAPY: It is a variety of radiotherapy that brings up the source of radioactivity and the tumour.

CYTOSCOPY: It is a direct exam of the urethra and bladder with an optical tube that carries a light in its extreme.

DOSIMETRY: Related technique that allows the determination of a dose absorbed by a tissue.

EPIDURAL: It refers to the space situated between the dura mater and the osseous plate of the spine and the skull.

GLEASON: Classification that builds a series of hystological grades related with the type and disposition of the cells that set up prostate cancer. It informs us of its aggressiveness. It is presented in a scale from 2 to 10, from minor to major aggressiveness.

ISODOSIS: It refers to all the points that receive the same dosis of radiation in a radiotherapic treatment field.

PROSTATE: Small secretory conical gland at the base of the male bladder and surrounding the first part of the urethra.

PSA: It is the most important indication of the prostatic tumoral tissue. It is used for the early detection of prostate cancer and for the follow-up of patients after the treatment.

RADIOSCOPY: Through x-rays this technique allows us to see in a fluorescent screen a body situated between the screen and the tube transmitter of the rays.
